AOP was the recipient of the award due to it's large contribution in supporting Toyota's success in South East Asia as well as in Toyota's export program. The contributions AOP has made are considerable; it was noted that in 2004 Toyota received as much as Rp 1.1 trillion from AOP, and in more recent years the number has grown to as much as Rp 1.9 trillion.

During the Toyota Global Supplier Convention, TMC presented 5 of the awards for regional contribution for several continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Australia and South East Asia. AOP was the only recipient from the South East Asia region.

According Budi S. Pranoto, it is an honour not only for the Astra Group but also for Indonesian people since the efforts and hard work of the citizens of the nation under Astra Otoparts Group got international recognition.

“We all hope that what has been achieved by AOP can stimulate other manufacturers to get international recognition. In the current globalization era, our need is to be recognized not only locally but also globally. Therefore, our products will have a vast market base area ,” he explained.

To celebrate receiving the award, on Wednesday, 28 February, in AOP Auditorium, Executives of AOP Group as well as Managers from several subsidiaries attended a party. The event also served to announce the best employee nominators who will represent AOP-Group in the best employee election during 50 th anniversary of Astra International. The nominators are Deni Haryadi (PT GKD), Kingwan (PT WEP), I Gede Made S. (PT MTM), Djatmiko D.S. (PT MTM) and Subrono (PT KYB).
